Type of Aid: Forgivable Loan
Amount: Eligible owners provided with up to $20,000 for the needed home adaptations. If the property is on-reserve in northern or remote areas, the maximum amount may be increased by 25%.
Eligibility Requirements: This program helps First Nation low-income seniors pay for minor home adaptation to on-reserve primary properties to extend the time they can live independently. Applicants must be 65+ and have difficulty with daily activities brought on by age. The senior occupant must live in the home for at least 6 months after the work is complete. Otherwise, the loan will have to be paid back.

Eligibility Requirements: This program offers funding to First Nations who undertake accessibility work to modify dwellings occupied or intended for occupancy by low-income persons with disabilities. Total household incomes must meet eligible thresholds, and the property must meet minimum health and safety standards.
